The Washington Redskins (then Boston Braves) achieved initial success almost straight away during their first season in Washington; winning the NFL title in 1937 and proceeding onto securing a second world championship in 1942. The Washington Redskins have made 2 Super Bowl appearances as well as numerous playoffs since the merger between the AFL and the NFL in 1970.
