It took almost 20 years for the Pacific North West to earn a franchise of their own, but the Seattle Seahawks made the wait worthwhile. Founded in 1976, by their third season the Seattle Seahawks were posting a winning record, one which they repeated in 1979. The Seattle Seahawks continued to build on their success during the 80s with several more playoff appearances. The Seattle Seahawks climbed to the AFC championship for the first time in 83, and claimed the first division title in 1988. The Seattle Seahawks record of success continued into the millennium with a 13-3 victory record in 2003 which lead to them claiming the NFC championship and earned them their first ever Super Bowl berth.
