The Colorado Avalanche are a professional ice hockey team from Denver, Colorado. They compete in the Northwest Division of the NHL’s Western Conference. The franchise was established in Quebec and was originally called the Quebec Nordiques until 1995 when owner, Stan Kroenke moved the team to Colorado. The Colorado Avalanche have secured 2 Stanley Cup victories, 2 division championships and an impressive 13 conference championships. The home of the Colorado Avalanche is the Pepsi Center and the team play in burgundy, black, blue, silver and white. The Colorado Avalanche are captained by Adam Foote, managed by Greg Sherman and coached by Joe Sacco.
