New England Patriots shop

The New England Patriots were established in 1959 when Boston businessman Billy Sullivan Jr secured the new team franchise. The name, the New England Patriot’s was chosen by a panel of local sportswriters who were keen to pay tribute to the team’s New England tradition. The New England patriots made history by thrashing the Buffalo Bills in the 1st ever AFL pre-season game in 1960. The New England Patriots did not have a suitable home stadium until 1971, when they finally secured a 60,764 seat stadium in a town south of Boston called Foxboro. Up until then, the New England Patriots used to roam around playing on local university fields such as Harvard and Boston.
