Washington Nationals

The Washington Nationals are now based in Washington, D.C., but were originally founded in Montreal, Quebec in 1969. The Washington Nationals started out as The Montreal Expos and were Canada’s first major league professional baseball team. The Washington Nationals now play in the Eastern Division, and have recently relocated in 2008 to a new park called the Nationals Park, in Southeast D.C. The Washington Nationals played their first 3 seasons at the RFK stadium. The name The Washington Nationals is taken from the 2 previous Washington teams, and is shortened to ‘The Nats’ by fans.
