The Toronto Blue Jays are a professional baseball team located in Toronto, Canada. The club was founded in 1977 and used to play at the Exhibition Stadium. The Toronto Blue Jays team then progressed onto playing at the SkyDome in 1989. The Toronto Blue Jays participate in the Eastern Division of Major League Baseball's American League. The "Toronto Blue Jays" name is taken from the bird with the same name. They are affectionately nicknamed "the Jays" by their fans. The Toronto Blue Jays team logo and merchandise features this symbolic bird.
