Kansas City Royals

The Kansas City Royals first arrived on the scene in 1969. The Kansas City Royals were established after US Senator Stuart Symington, demanded a new franchise for the city after their first team, the Athletics moved to Oakland. The Kansas City Royals are part of the Central Division and have participated in 2 World Series games, winning their 1985 game against the St. Louis Cardinals. The Kansas City Royals name comes from the American Royal, a livestock, horse and rodeo show that has taken place annually in Kansas City since 1899.
