Houston Astros
The Houston Astros are a 60s expansion team, and played their first game in 1962. Back then, the Houston Astros were called the The Colt .45s after the famous gun that ‘won the west’. They were renamed the Houston Astros in 1965, in recognition of Houston’s vital role in the space race. A long established part of the National Baseball League’s Central Division, they Houston Astros have made one World Series appearance, in 2005, and have made the postseason 9 times; 4 times as Central Division champs and 3 as Western Division Champs, and twice more as the wild card.
